Tricia was more than kind and invited us to join her at Thanksgiving Point to go see the Tulip Festival. It was really nice to get out of the house and go do something. We hadn't been anywhere in a really long time. And it was really fun to hang out with Tricia and her girls.
Because its me, I decided to add a little twist to our stroll in the park. I decided to add some challenges. We divided onto teams and had to find certain things to take pictures of. Everyone had a letter they had to form to spell a word. Can you tell what we spelled?
We got a selfie in the car. Man, I love these kids. They sure can drive me crazy, but other times, we just drive somewhere fun and have a blast.
Here are some of the challenges that me and Pearl had.
PICTURE OF FLOWERS IN THE SHADE
PICTURE WITH THREE TYPES OF FLOWERS IN IT
FIND A FLOWER THAT MATCHES SOMETHING YOU ARE WEARING
Here are some of Robyn and Ivory's challenges.
TAKE A PICTURE WITH A STRANGER (I guess the statue counts)
TAKE A PICTURE OF THE BACK OF YOU
TAKE A PICTURE OF A STRIPED FLOWER
And finally June and Daisy and their challenges.
TAKE A SELFIE IN THE SECRET GARDEN
TAKE A PICTURE OF WATER OF SOME SORT
TAKE A PICTURE WITH JESUS
I think everyone rocked their challenges. We took a gazillion pictures of flowers. You don't need to see them all, but I'll put some on here that I thought were really pretty.
This tree reminded me of a frog face. Can you see it? My grandma would have liked this tree.
There were ponds and pools around the area and most had Koi in them. One in particular had a LOT of Koi. Usually you can't tell how many Koi there are, except when they all come to one place. What a hoard of Koi. I think they were looking for a handout. Some of them were so big.
We found a turtle in the water as well. One turtle, with many Koi friends.
You can't see them well, but there were baby geese on the lawn. So cute. (They are in the shade)
We stopped in the secret garden to make a wish.
I really like the Italian garden with its long fountain.
A few more flowers.
And some selfies
I love the section with the Jesus statues. They are truly amazing. We had fun walking around and taking pictures.
And just a few more flowers.
Thank you Tricia and cute girls for inviting us. Annalise and Camille walked around with their fun Polaroid cameras taking pictures. Those are so fun, but I could never afford film for my five girls.

Art Theme: Progression
This was a weird week. Our art show fell on Father's Day which means we had less people show up, but also there was a lot going on during the week, so less people participated in general. That is fine. The art is always optional. And I still like the things that were made.
It was Hannah's theme this week, although we haven't seen Hannah in quite a while, but we still appreciate her providing a theme. It was Progression. That could mean a lot of things. Let's see what people came up with.
Ivory made bread. She did a fun slide show documenting the progress as she made the bread. I can't put the slide show on, but hopefully these gifs will show what she was up to.
Here is Daisy's art. Great idea.
Pearl and Annalise had similar ideas. The butterfly is a great example of progress.
My idea was very strange. Take a minute to soak in the weirdness.
We've been watching a lot of Marvel. I like June's version of Progression.
Robyn didn't quite finish her piece, but we forgive her since she got her wisdom teeth out last week.
Tricia and Annalise both had great pieces showing the progress of Mother Nature.
Camie showed her progress on a cutting board for a friend's wedding. Her fonts are meticulous.
And finally, my mom did a fun little slideshow as well. I'm hoping this gif also captures her idea. I sure hope that isn't the progress we are headed for.
We are definitely making progress through the summer. I can't believe we are almost to July. Next week our theme is Post Mortem. It is Camie's theme. Very educational, since the kids didn't even know what that meant before. Stay tuned.
