June has officially graduated from Elementary School. She will start Jr. High in the fall, and I'm not sure I like where that puts me. Am I old enough or (gasp) mature enough to raise a Jr. High kid? A teenager? Guess I don't have much of a choice.
I'm not sure how Sixth Grade Graduation is supposed to go. The school didn't do anything, but the moms got organized and put on an amazing shindig. I was super impressed. There was an Italian theme since the kids learned some Italian throughout the school year. There was plenty of pizza, a photo booth and a whole Italian Soda bar. (Yum)
Jana (Hannah's mom) provided all the props for the photo booth. See the Italian flag back there? We Cazier's are so stylish.
Here are some of the fine graduates.
Not all the girls are going to the same Jr. High next year. I think these girls will really miss each other. June is organizing a summer craft day so they can keep in touch. I hope I still see a lot of them.
There were plenty of awards that went out that evening. June got Best Personality. (I really believe this about her actually. She tries to be friends with everyone.)
She also got most likely to be Trilingual. That could be a possibility someday. I think if she could choose three languages right now, they would be English (naturally), Italian, and then German.
I didn't take a lot of pictures that evening. I did catch June snuggling Mila. Mila is Mrs. Billings other child. She is adorable and therefore won the hearts of all the girls right away. But she would only go to certain people. June was fortunate enough to be one of those. She spent many a recess inside playing with Brooks and Mila.
After eating, family members went home and graduates stayed to play Dodge Ball. I played too and was the only adult besides Kolby. We did talk all the remaining moms, dads, and siblings into playing a few games against the sixth grade kids at the end. I won't lie. We were slaughtered. It wasn't even close. I wouldn't expect any less from these kids.
They have spent an amazing year working their tails off. And despite the intense pressure and workload, over half the class received the presidential education award for having all As. There are a whole bunch of them up there.
There is a very special award given out called 'Hope of America.' I do not envy Mrs. Billings task of choosing two students to receive it out of her stellar class. The awards went to Josie Jorgensen and Corban Villa. (I don't have pictures and you don't know who they are, but I wanted to remember them here on the blog. Such amazing kids.)
With that, 2015's school year is done. Finished. Finito. Abgeschlossen.
I bet you had to look abgeschlossen up! If June really does start learning German, I would love to talk to her. I miss it. How many grades in Junior High School? 7,8,9 or just 7,8? Thanks to intensive work with his math teacher the past two days, Tim is passing the class - he actually got a B- which is so much better than the D he had. Congrats to June - she's done a great job!
