Chicas and Henna

Last year, we had a fun activity in our neighborhood where we went back to the 70s and did hair wraps and dressed up like hippies. We had a huge potluck and it was a lot of fun. When we were planning it, we thought it would be fun to do Henna, but after I'd ordered it, we were asked not to bring it to the gathering.

That is fine. More for us. And by more, I mean we had a lot!

It sat in our freezer for a long time because we had never used it before and we weren't quite sure what we were doing. But finally Robyn decided that it needed to come out. It was freezer burning a hole in her pocket, so one day I came home and several people were decorated. Sweet.

The first person to get it was Bella (one of Robyn's friends) but it turned into a lot of people. Robyn even gave Dad a Polynesian shoulder tattoo.

It is very dark when it goes on and then after it flakes off, it is pretty light. It tends to darken up for a couple days and then usually fades within a week.

Everyone got in on the action too. Hand, foot, and even neck henna was requested, and given. There was a bit of arguing when Robyn would get tired and not do Henna every single day.

Some people got surprises, like me. But all temporary tattoos were appreciated. The longer you leave the ink on, the darker the design should be. Also, if it can stay damp with a lemon spray, it will be darker. We are trying to learn the secrets.

Either way, it is a fun thing to do and it is another fun art outlet. And we still have tons. So if you ever desire a temporary tattoo, come our way.
