Riding in Pink

Pink Socks Day!! I bought socks and left them all on the table for people to grab in the morning in honor of Barry. I didn’t wear mine right away because I went to a baptism, so I was in nylons, but see if you can spot pink socks on some of the people in this post.

This special day also happened to be the day we were going to go horseback riding to celebrate Pearl's birthday.

Tyler met Abby through a real estate open house. Abby seems like your regular seventeen year old girl, except she is super responsible. She has two horses that she takes care of every day. She rents space on a farm and helps take care of all the animals there too. I was super impressed. She gives riding lessons and that is how she makes money to feed the horses.

I was a little late getting there since I was coming from the baptism, but she was getting everything ready. She saddled the two horses and took them into a pen where everyone got a turn to ride. It was so fun.

The horses were named Monty and Hook. They are both pretty old. Monty was chill and sometimes he didn’t even want to walk, but Hook was high spirited. Not crazy, but if you let him, he wanted to trot and lope. Most of the girls took a turn loping around. It was so fun to watch them. I like when their hair flies out behind them.

They all took turns and tried out both horses. Some liked Monty for his mellow gait and other adventurous girls liked the loping.

When the girls weren’t riding, they were checking out the farm and petting goats or catching bunnies.
The bunnies were a highlight. Robyn caught one and everyone took a turn holding it. So cute. It's so fluffy!!

The goats were actually very friendly too. Some were quite fat since they were expecting kids. :) There were peacocks, pigmy pigs and even a really large stinky pig. (Really stinky.)

I think Pearl had a great time. She seemed in horse heaven. Everyone needs to ride a horse sometime in their life.

Always good to make friends with an equine.
