Eagles of a Feather Flock Together

Last month we were able to go to Idaho for a very special ceremony. It is a momentous day when a young man gets his Eagle Scout award, but it is even cooler when two brothers get them the same day.

Kaysen and Hinckley didn't complete their project the same day, but Kaysen waited so that they could receive their awards together. It was very neat.

I believe they both did a project involving  putting in landscaping at Elementary schools, specifically getting the ground cover in on the playground.

I'm not sure if I know better boys than these two. They are such helpful, courteous, kind, genuine boys. At their award someone quoted the Scout Law and I think it fits them to a tee: A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

They are good boys in and of themselves, but I give a lot of credit to their amazing mom, who has been by their side every step of the way through scouts. There is a reason that moms get a pin at the end.

This is one of the neatest families I know; doing their classic pose. Congrats Kaysen and Hinckley.

We weren't able to stay in Idaho for long. But we did go check out Grandpa's grave while we were there. The kids had all seen it, but Tyler was checking to see if the ground had been leveled out some more. (It is on a hill, so there have been a few problems getting it level.) It is built almost like two little benches, so the kids sat around and we took a picture.

We sure miss Barry. It comforts me that he is in a great place and is probably much needed for his testimony and service. In the meantime, we will enjoy the family we have with us. This one is for you K Cazier's! (After all...when in Idaho, do as the Idahoans do...)

  1. There's nothing quite like family, is there? Keeps you focused on what is really important in life.
