Sabering in the New Year

It is definitely a tradition around here to saber bottles for many occasions, but especially for New Year's. They have some new flavors of Martinelli's that we hadn't tried. I highly recommend the Apple-Mango. It was the best by far.

I had collected several bottles, but I only had five. So we rolled a die to see who would saber the bottles. Out of five, Pearl and June were not picked, but I gave my bottle to Pearl because she is little and needs to have these opportunities. Here she is finding the seam on her bottle.

We lined up outside to saber bottles, but it was really dark. You can't really see, but Daisy is at the start of the line, then Pearl, Dad, Ivory, and Robyn. Ivory had the strange bottle. Martinelli's makes a Sparkling Blush, which is Apple-Raspberry I believe. The bottle looks a bit different and seems to be a little harder to saber than the usual bottle.

Tyler got his bottle first try, followed by Pearl and Robyn (almost together) and Daisy. Ivory struggled with that weird bottle, but she got it.

Nicely done everyone. Now we shall feast.

The evening was very fun. We went over to the Turner's to play games. They had a nice crowd there and great food and we enjoyed a new game called On a Scale of One to T-Rex. People had different actions to act out, but you were trying to match intensity of your actions. You are supposed to all do the actions at the same time, but sometimes it was hard to see other people, so we did them one at a time and it was pretty funny.

Good times. We didn't stay until the new year since we had littles to get to bed. We actually rang in the New Year watching Pirates of the Caribbean. We are all excited for 2020. It should hold some great adventures.
