Playing in the Fountain

Nova can be quite the stinker but she can also be really fun. As dogs go, I haven't had one that plays as much as Nova. She fetches like a champ and is almost inexhaustible. We don't take her on as many walks as we should, mainly because we are lazy, but also because she tries to eat other animals she sees. However, the other day (in the summer) Tyler and a couple kids took Nova for a nice long walk and they found the perfect place to play with her.

We happen to live not far from a University. They have an awesome fountain with stairs up and down it. Nova might have taken a small swim in the water, but only because the kids pushed her in. I think they wanted to see if she could swim. They got a great video of her playing in the water.

June, Tyler, Ivory, and Pearl had a great time that day. Check out some other photos of their adventures.

In fact, they had so much fun, that they invited the rest of the family to go to the fountain again on another evening. So we packed up the whole crew and took a family walk. (With the dog in tow.)

I actually don't know which of the kids had been to that fountain before this time, but I think it is a favorite for all of them now. Check out all these cool stairs. There is a wall of water up above, but we spent the majority of our time on the stairs.

And we played with Nova some more. When the ball got wet and then it was thrown into the air, it would make a halo of water spray as it spun. We tried to slow it down and film it. The end result isn't amazing, but it is fun to see slow motion Nova go after the ball.

Hey Dad, take another picture of us!!

This picture is a little frightening to me. Nova reminds me of a dragon with her jaw trying to snap up the ball. Even though she is playing, she can be quite vicious.

We thought we'd grab a couple more pictures in this beautiful photo op background.

What a diva! Always hogging the camera.

Sorry there aren't more pictures of Tyler. He took the photographer position on this trip. You'll have to trust me that he looked amazing...as always.
