Owl City in Concert

(September 28th, 2023)

Our family likes Owl City, but June loves them. Owl City is basically one guy, Adam Young, and as he was experimenting with music in his parents' basement, Owl City was born. It is called an electronica music project, not a band, but whatever. There are still concerts and great music, and that's band enough for me.

When I saw Owl City was going to be here in September, right around June's birthday, it seemed a no brainer. She was so excited when we told her. And everyone was able to go, so it was an awesome evening. Pearl took some pictures as we drove up to the concert. I love these ghost earrings we got. They are holographic and cast a colored shadow that changes from pink to blue. Good for a concert, I think.

I really like pictures with light flares in them. (You'll probably notice this in further pictures.) I love the way light can be captured.

When we got to the venue, the line wrapped around the block. Tyler dropped us off and went to find parking. The line moved fairly quickly, and we were together, so we didn't mind the wait.

The concert was just plain fun. Most of the songs came from Owl City's newest album, Coco Moon. June and I listened to it the other day, so most of them were familiar to me, but Adam also played a couple of his classics that everyone in the entire building seemed to know. (For you newbies, the most popular song by Owl City is probably Fireflies.) We took pictures and tried to capture a moment to remember forever. It was an awesome evening and the first 'concert' for several of them.

Tyler made it even better by buying t-shirts for all of us and giving them to us after the concert. What a stud. On the way out, Tyler showed us a car that he passed on the way in. Someone is a huge fan!

Happy Birthday June! Hope the big 21 is memorable.
