Hook, Line, and Sinker

Number of children taken: 3

Number of fishing rods bought: 2

Number of injuries sustained: 1

Number of fish caught: 0

Saturday was 'free fishing' day. Tyler missed it last year so he wasn't going to let it happen again. The kids had a great time, despite the fact that no aquatic friends came home with them, and even Ivory seemed to enjoy her time despite the wicked bruise on her hiney from sitting on something unfriendly (Tyler says large construction nail?).

Tyler has had better trips what with the judgmental lady who kept dragging Ivory out of the road and giving him the you-are-a-terrible-parent glare and the fact that Ivory peed three times on the trip and all of them not including a toilet (I think she may be left home next time).

He said truthfully that this was the best and the worst fishing trip he has ever taken the girls on; this being the ONLY trip he has taken them on.

So, now that we have some rods, here is hoping that the next trip is better and they actually catch something.

As things stand, I am pretty satisfied with my catch...

You know, only about half of the time that we go fishing do we actually catch anything, and if we do, it is because Sky and the girls get up at the crack of dawn and head out. Don't give up!

We just held a fishing derby and we led the boys in the requirements for the fishing belt loop which required us to read the rules and here in OR, you'd be pelased to know that kids under the age of 14 can fish all year long, no matter what the day!!! Adults need a license but hey, for$15 you can fish with your girls all the time!! Read your own state regs and too bad you didn't catch anything...go when the Scouts are having a fishing derby, we try to get the ponds stocked!
