Sitting in the Back

I have really enjoyed the UVYSO concerts we have gone to this year. Sadly, they are finished for the season because of Corona, of course. Such an interesting time we live in.

We did get to attend a concert in February. It was an interesting concert. Students auditioned to play a concerto and then the orchestra did background accompaniment for each piece. Here they are getting ready. Can you see June in the back?

This is the only time we will see her for the concert.

It was fun because you could tell who was going to play, because they were the only ones not wearing the traditional black. The piano and harp solos were very nice. (You are not allowed to record these concerts, so I'm sorry you don't get to hear any snippets.)

The first chair violin was exceptional and the viola and cello were pretty good. There was another violinist that was technically accurate, but I actually got a little bored. I think the song was just too long. Pearl is feeling it.

It was a different kind of concert and I enjoyed it very much. Good job all you talented kiddos.

It is great to support June in her musical abilities. I love to hear her play and I'm glad she has had a place to play. As with all things, there is hope that it will start again after some time.

Musical talent along with artistic talent? Just doesn't seem fair.
