Sabering in the New Year

No bells or ringing for us. It is bottles or nothing. Even with the fact that they don't make bottles the way they used to and they are much harder to saber, we still make it happen. We didn't have many pictures from New Year's 2021. But we dutifully sabered. (Even some baby bottles.)

Pearl got it first, followed by Daisy and Ivory. Robyn took the longest, but she got it too.

Happy New Years!!

This last New Years (2022) we were a little better about documenting. We got down the coupon calendar and tried to use up a couple coupons before they all expired. Beau and Pearl went to Leatherby's and had lunch.

They did much better than Tyler and I did. We tried to find Love Birds, but apparently the Provo location is gone, so we settled for DP Cheesesteaks. (Twist my arm.)

Beau planned a party in the evening, but with crazy weather and family obligations, we only got Basil to come. And Isaac was there as well. In fact, he came early enough that Beau pinned him down and did makeup on him. He actually looked pretty amazing.

Beau did Pearl's makeup too. She had a purple look that would have been great at a Discotech.

When Basil came, we played lots of games. We played The Deadlies (which is a new game I really like), and Compatibility. (Ivory and I crushed it!)

We played an epic round of the Name Game. And then Ivory took off Isaac's makeup. Just as well, since he had glitter over half his face.

Then it was midnight!! Time to saber some bottles. Are you ready crew?

It really is hard to saber bottles with those smaller lips, but our peeps did it. Success!

Then we played Caveman Telephone. It's feels like a tradition now. It is fun and demoralizing to play with artists. I tried really hard to draw well, but it doesn't matter. For instance, check my amazing drawing of an alligator eating the mailman.

Not bad huh? But look at Beau's. It was my favorite drawing of the night.

Other favorites include the toy wars.

An awesome skeleton sucking out a bunny's brain drawn by Ives.

Fireboy and Watergirl getting married.

Daisy added the alter and Isaac didn't know what it was. He wrote something about a chimney and bells which led to this awesome drawing by Basil.

And finally my Hercules Tornado that I was very proud of.

What a great evening. It was super late, but we stayed up to watch Galaxy Quest since Basil hadn't seen it. Beau did a drawing of the characters while we watched. And Ivory fell asleep. What a great way to spend New Year's Eve.

Here's to a new year with new expectations and adventures awaiting, and here's to the year that I catch up on the blog. :)
