Now for the birthday boy! I wonder if he likes having his birthday 5 days after mine? No changing it now. I try to make the day special for him.
Here are a few highlights from last year and this one.
2022
* Tyler turned 44 last year.
* We didn't take a lot of pictures, but he did get some more shemaughs. He has quite the collection now.
* Of course we made him some brownies with German chocolate frosting.
* I'm pretty sure he had a great birthday like always.
2023
* Tyler turned 45! Closer to 50 all the time.
* We got him a few gifts but we did something new. He had to open his gifts with his eyes closed and figure out what they were. He was actually really good at it. He guessed the scale after thorough hand inspection. Then he guessed the hot sauce right away and even guessed one of the names. "It probably has some spicy name like scorpion," he said. Spot on!
* We ordered Tyler a lovely sunset.
* We apparently, are NOT creative, and we made him brownies with German chocolate frosting again. (I'll mix it up next year.)
* He blew out the candles, but it took him two tries. I hope his birthday wish wasn't too important. :)
* We actually left on his birthday evening to go to Idaho. We went up for a quick trip since KJ and Hinckley were going to the temple. So we extended the birthday festivities for a little longer. It was a wonderful trip and it was great to be with family.
- you know Ellen (Kaysen's fiance). The other new girl in the pictures is Shaney, Kolby's girlfriend. I don't really talk about sad stuff on the blog very often, especially when I don't feel like it is my place. Often I gloss over stuff or just kind of leave it out, but Kolby and Kathryn are divorced and have been for over a year. That may have come up somewhere along the way, but most likely, I avoided it. It doesn't change how much we love both of them. But it does explain the extra person in the photos.
Nothing explains that face Kolby is making...
