Silver Lining

Since I'm bouncing around between now and then, this isn't Ivory's first ballroom performance. It happens to be the most recent. It was such an interesting event. It was done over Zoom. So Ivory and her team were the only people at the High School auditorium. All the other schools performed in other locations and recorded it.

In some ways that was kind of nice because I got to watch Ivory's team practice a little and I could take some pictures before. Ivory had very specific requirements for makeup this time around. I watched a tutorial and worked really hard on her eye shadow. I think it looked really good, except the special silver we got to go on top was a dud. Ours was dried out when we opened it.

But she got more makeup when she arrived at school. By the time I got there later, she looked like a silver angel.

It was a fun dance. Her partner is often Gabriel, who is in the same grade as she is and we do a lot of carpooling with him. They are the only ninth graders that come over from the Junior High to the High School. Here are some stills from the dance.

And the dance.

The light quality wasn't great in the auditorium, but you get the idea of the team.

And here's a little closer picture of Gabriel and Ivory, in case you couldn't really see them in the video.

There was no standard audience there to watch. There were a few parents and it was cool that one of Ivory's friends, Isaac, was able to come watch and support her.

Ivory seems to be enjoying her time in ballroom team. She is growing into quite a lovely young lady.
