All Finished Stitching??

My mother is amazing. In many ways, but today I would like to talk about one of those ways.

She is quite the crosstitcher. I have followed in her footsteps and consider myself almost up to her standard. She has completed so many projects (LARGE and small) that I can't keep count. She has a whole room in her house filled with her beautiful pieces.

One of her goals was to make a birth announcement for each of my children. She started with June, of course. I loved it.

And here it is a little closer.

This is possibly the only stitched piece that was originally designed to be a birth announcement. You will see that she tailors them to her needs.

Robyn was born, and her's was completely different, and I loved it again.

Next up was Ivory. I think my Mom got a little ambitious with this one. I was shocked to finally see it, but pleased as punch because it was astounding as usual.

We didn't really think she would go much bigger than that. But we were wrong. Daisy's was a huge masterpiece. Daisy was 3 by the time Mom finished it. (Although Daisy didn't mind that it was late.) It is amazing and there is so much detail.

Mom scaled back just a little for Pearl, because she realized the time and energy involved, but Pearl's crosstitch is just as impressive as the rest.

I love every single one. They hang over or near the girls' beds. I am very blessed to have a mother with such great talents and a desire to share them, especially with her grandkids. I too, hope to make birth announcements for my grandkids someday, but they probably won't be nearly as elaborate.

Thanks again Mom. They are all so fantastic and unique. But at least you don't have to make any more, right?
