The Light is the Same

My lamp may be different, but the light is the same.

This was the theme for Young Women in Excellence this year. I really liked how they did the theme this year. The girls were in each in charge of a different value and they each carved a pumpkin to go with their value.

All the girls came over to our house to carve. They were very creative. Sometimes it is hard to decide what to carve to express a value.

Each girl spoke about her value and then put her pumpkin on display. June had Individual Worth. She gave a great little talk.

At the end, she lit her light and put her pumpkin on top.

Robyn had knowledge. She did a great job.

Can you see all the cool designs for each value?

Even in the dark they looked very cool. (And of course we used candles with batteries. No real candles at church.)

Ivory got to conduct the music. They try to have all the girls involved.

Pearl and I took a couple silly photos in the back. I may have been holiday inspired to edit this one.

It was an excellent evening. Even though we are all different, the light of Christ can shine through us and inspire others.

There were a couple other pumpkins carved as decoration. I love these two with the Young Women's symbol and the temple. Beautiful.
